I’m so glad you asked. You did ask didn’t you? I guess it all comes down to that fine line of truth that often exists between fact and fiction. This blog is intended to be a companion to Glenn Whelan’s <a href="http://passamaquoddy.blog.com/"><span style="color:#cc0000;">Passamaquoddy.blog.com</span></a>. If you are a fan of the Disney theme parks and have a good sense of humor, Glenn's blog is for you. When visiting Passamaquoddy, you will be treated to actual reviews on Disney topics such as dining, music, art, dining, movies, Broadway productions, attractions and of course my personal favorite dining.<br /><br />You will also learn that Passamaquoddians are big Disney fans. So much so that they have themed most of the town around their own versions of the theme parks attractions and shows. The many attractions around town remain for the most part faithful in design to their Disney counter parts, however most have nautical themes.<br /><br />Many local businesses capitalize on the use of Disney based names. My only attachment to Passamaquoddy is it’s placement in Disney’s PETE’S DRAGON. That film holds a great spot in my childhood. Now, many years later, I still am a big fan of Disney: the movies, the company itself, the fans and of course, its theme parks.<br /><br />With many of my friends showing their appreciation through blogs, websites, podcasts and books, I only thought it right that I do a bit of my own.<br /><br />So, I will jot my thoughts when I find the time. In the mid 1800's his vivid imagination produced such works as A Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), From the Earth to the Moon (1865), Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1869–1870), Around the World in Eighty Days (1873) and The Mysterious Island (1875).<br /><br />Many of the subjects Verne wrote about such as space, air, and underwater travel were decades away from becoming reality. He dared to think that if we can dream it then we can do it. A philosophy that would inspire inventive minds for years to come. Such thinking would leave its mark on another famous man known throughout Passamaquoddy, Walt Disney. In the mid 1900's through the medium of film the Walt Disney studios brought a number of Verne's works to the big screen. The whole town was in an uproar and Doc was nowhere to be found. The whole mess was nearly resolved when Lorien (who had plans of her own) lured Jim out of the “Broken News” offices with a family sized bag of Cheetos. Jim was last seen licking his fingers and heading toward Hoagie Cagg’s place. Local authorities were not equipped with the proper breathing apparatus for a pursuit onto Hoagie’s land and elected not to follow him, stating “that the smell up there was punishment enough.” To this day we really do not understand what caused Jim to snap like that.<br /><br />George and the gang over at Quoddesigners finally located Doc and launched an underground movement to restore the town. Upon his return, Doc learned that Lorien had decorated the offices by hot gluing hundreds of plush Tigger dolls to the walls.
